Humane Society offers free spay, neuter with grant
The Gulf Coast Humane Society was recently awarded a Florida License Plate Grant, which has enabled the not-for-profit organization to give free spay and neuters to the pets of families on public assistance.
The exciting grant has made it possible for the Humane Society to provide free spay/neuters to family pets in the community, making spay/neuter possible for families who would otherwise not be able to afford the procedure.
Jennifer Galloway, executive cirector of the Humane Society, announced that the shelter is halfway to its goal. She added that she hopes the public will “reach out to those around you and inform them about this exciting opportunity so that we can spay and neuter to save lives.”
For information on the free service, call (239) 332-2719.
Galloway added that the number of vouchers available for the program is limited to 500.
The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a no-kill shelter and does not euthanize any animal for lack of space or length of time that they are in the care of the shelter.
To meet the residents of the shelter, at 2010 Arcadia St., Fort Myers, call (239) 332-0364. Open on Sundays.
