Two teens end up in Lehigh canal in SUV
A 14-year-old Lehigh teenager crashed his parents’ car into a canal at Leeland Heights and Lee boulevards.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the 14-year-old boy, who by law does not possess a driver’s license, lost control and rolled a SUV into the canal last Wednesday.
Under Florida law, you can’t get a learner’s permit until you’re 15-years-old.
The name of the boy was not released but he has been given a notice to appear in court facing a misdemeanor offense of driving without a license and careless driving,.
According to the Lehigh Acres Fire Department, a 15-year-old was also in the car. Both boys were not injured.
