A holiday welcoming reception has been planned in Lehigh Acres for the residents to meet new Lee County officials. Among the newest public office holder is Brian Hamman on the Lee County Commission.

The event, to be held on Dec. 16 was planned by Mike Welch, a member of the East County Water Control District. He said the Lee County Commission helped him with the program.

It will be held in the large board room at the East County Water Control District on E. County Lane, just off Lee Boulevard, near the Williams Street intersection. Food will be served.

The ECWCD board will meet after the reception Dec. 16 in the board room at 601 East County Lane in Lehigh.

The new officials to be welcomed include Brian Hamman, vice chairman of the Lee County Board of Commissioners, Lee County Manager Roger Dejarlais and Lee County Attorney Richard William Wesch.

“This will give the business community and the residents of Lehigh an opportunity to meet the new members of Lee County government,” said Welch. “It will give them a good look at Lehigh and what we have to offer here.”

Hamman was elected two weeks ago as vice chairman of the Lee County Commission.

The reception is open to everyone in the community, Welch said.

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners for East County Water Control District will follow.

Welch is asking folks to RSVP by Thursday, Dec. 12 by calling 239-368-0044, Ext. 17. You can also email Carla@ecwcd.com, Welch said.
