William R. Sheehan

William R. Sheehan, 88, of Lehigh Acres, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014. He was born in Biddeford, Maine, to William F. and Anna Sheehan.

He was a graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy. He entered the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He retired after 30 years as a commander.

He resided in Lehigh Acres for 40 years.

Surviving are his wife of 60 of years, Joan; daughters, Barbara (Robert) Reckner, Joan (Timothy) Muth and Rita (Mark) Napierla; son, James (Christine); seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was held Monday, April 21, 2014, at the Hodges-Farley Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at the St. Raphael RC Church. Interment was held at the Lee Memorial Park Cemetery.
