At 6:46 a.m. May 29, Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 54 Queen Court in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies located one man unresponsive inside the home; he was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Throughout the day, as the investigation evolved, it was determined that a violent confrontation took place inside the home.

Donald Keith White, 22, of 2675 Lime St., Fort Myers, died as a result of a gunshot wound sustained during the altercation.

The investigation is ongoing.
