Store burglarized by someone familiar
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a person who broke into a Dollar General and knew all the right things to commit the crime, seemingly unnoticed.
Detectives say the suspect used keys to gain entry to the Dollar General, at 701 Gretchen Ave. S, shortly before midnight on July 12. Once inside, the thief immediately disabled the store’s alarm before walking over to the safe and easily removing all the cash from the last two days proceeds.
When the thief collected all available funds, he or she walked to the front door and locked the store back up before taking off.
Surveillance cameras captured images of the suspect, and now Crime Stoppers is hoping that someone can provide the name of the person responsible.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
