Paul Ran strikes again, leaving rest of us behind

By Staff | Aug 13, 2014

To the editor:

Wisconsin’s Rep. Paul Ryan latest faux pas is his budget, misnamed “Way Forward!”

Forward to where? Ryan’s proposed tax cut of the child’s tax credit, will result in 12 million more people in poverty. Incidentally, six million children will be back in poverty.

Two thirds of his proposal will result in service cuts to the middle class and the poor. Ryan’s philosophy is that all able-bodied people should work.

So that leads to another conversation: Why has the U. S. House of Representatives refused to vote on any job bills. Many jobs are still needed to help the unemployed and underemployed. What about voting for those novel ideas?

Please remember always that Paul Ryan voted not to renew unemployment benefits.

Please remember always that Paul Ryan voted to cut food stamps for the most needy.

Also remember always that Ryan voted against raising the minimum wage to the $10.10 level.

Is it Paul Ryan’s goal to reduce the budget or to place more people into poverty?

Good question.

I used to think his budgets were extreme, draconian. Now I call them despicable. Ryan is gerrymandered into his seat, so he has a “Way Forward” leaving the rest of us behind.
