Police seek drive-by shooter
Lehigh Acres Sheriff’s deputies today are continuing an investigation into an early morning shooting in Lehigh on Wednesday, Sept 3 at 2:41 a.m.
Investigators said on that date deputies responded to a shooting call at 5323 28th St. SW in Lehigh.
According to a report from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, upon arrival, they said that a black male had been shot as a result of a drive-by shooting.
The male was subsequently picked up by a female who drove the victim to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter, but were unable to locate the suspect. Detectives with Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
No arrest had been made by the end of last week.
