School opens with new administrative team

Lehigh Acres Middle School has a new administrative team led by Principal Neketa Watson. She replaces Joe Pitura, who took a job with the Lee County Virtual School.

Watson is a graduate of Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, and an eight-year Army veteran.

Prior to coming to LAMS, Watson served as a teacher in Lee County and most recently held assistant principal positions at Lehigh Senior and East Lee County high schools.

Also new to the team is Lisa Slivoski and Joseph Restino.

Slivoski joins the team from Patriot Elementary School. She is a native of Michigan and a graduate of Eastern Michigan University

Restino comes from Lehigh Senior High School, where he taught mathematics. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida and is working on his doctorate at Florida Gulf Coast University.

In addition, Chevonise Anderson-Thomas will return with a new position, assistant principal for curriculum. She will also oversee the Cambridge Academic Program and coordinates the Apples Program.
