Caloosahatchee Regional Park announces programs
Caloosahatchee Regional Park, at 18500 N. River Road, Alva, presents the following programs:
– Cypress Creek Kayak Tour
9-11 a.m. Nov. 13
This slow-paced paddle is great for all experience levels. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All kayaking equipment is provided. Bring your own water, sunscreen, binoculars, clothing and shoes that can get wet. Meet at the campground entrance at 19130 N. River Road. Cost is $25 per person. Registration is required.
– Guided Nature Walk
9-11 a.m. Nov. 18
Join park staff on a stroll through natural plant communities. See firsthand the plants and animals that make Southwest Florida so unique. Participants should be able to walk approximately one and a half miles. Dress appropriately and bring a water bottle. Meet at the main entrance at 18500 N. River Road. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This program is free with paid parking. Registration is not required. Limit of 25 participants; please call ahead for groups of five or more.
– Astronomy Home School Evening
5-7 p.m. Nov. 20
This program starts with hands-on astronomy activities to learn about the planets and distance of our galaxy followed by an evening sky tour and telescope observing. Bring binoculars, water, bug spray, a flashlight and a lawn chair or something to sit on. Meet at the main entrance at 18500 N. River Road. This program but may be canceled due to inclement weather or clouds, or if the minimum participation is not met.Cost is $5 per student. Ages 8-18. A parking fee is required.
