LAMS to host concerts
The Lehigh Acres Middle School Band will host a concert on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the school, at 104 Arthur Ave. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Lehigh Acres Middle School Chorus will host a concert on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. at the school, at 104 Arthur Ave. The concert is free and open to the public.
22 schools earn award
The School District of Lee County recently announced that 22 schools have earned the Florida Department of Education’s Five Star School Award.
This symbol of achievement recognizes schools that have demonstrated exemplary community involvement.
To qualify for the award, a school must achieve 100 percent of the required criteria and maintain a portfolio that documents the achievement of criterion in five areas: community/business partnership; family involvement; volunteers; student community service; and the School Advisory Council.
One area Lee County school that earned the honor for 2014 is:
– Harns Marsh Elementary
The schools were honored at the recent Lee County School Board meeting.
