Fire district sets Dec. 16 meeting

The Lehigh Acres Fire Control and Rescue District makes notice, pursuant to Florida Statutes, of its intent to use the uniform method of collecting non-ad valorem special assessments to be levied within the district, for the cost of providing fire services and emergency rescue services, including emergency medical services and emergency transport services, commencing for the fiscal year beginning on Oct. 1, and continuing until discontinued by the district.

According to the district’s attorney, the district will consider the adoption of a resolution electing to use the uniform method of collecting such assessments, authorized by Florida Statutes, at a public hearing at 5 p.m. Dec. 16 in the conference room at Station 104, at 3102 S.W. 16th St.

Voters passed the assessment fee referendum on Nov. 4.

A resolution will state the need for the levy and will contain a legal description of the boundaries of the real property subject to the levy. Copies of the proposed form of resolution, which contains the legal description of the real property subject to the levy, are on file at the district offices, at 636 Thomas S. Sherwin Ave.

Interested persons are invited to attend.

The meeting on Dec. 16 is a regular one; it is being held early because of the holidays.

The fire board usually meets on the last Tuesday evening of the month.
