Storm warning: Tropical Storm coming to Kiwanis Thrift Store

The Lehigh Singers, who were originally The Lehigh Acres Community Chorus, will present a concert with Tropical Storm at the Kiwanis Thrift Store, 15 Homestead Road on Sunday, Nov. 30 at 3 p.m.
The holidays are upon us and planners say they will provide refreshments and a chance to browse through the Christmas decorations that are for sale and much, much more.
Tropical Storm is a part of Lehigh Singers, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization. For more information on either of these concerts, call 239-369-2052.
Under the direction of Artistic Director Paul Reilly, Tropical Storm will also perform at Faith Lutheran Church on Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. There will be a free will offering at the conclusion of the concert.
Paul Reilly is originally from Wisconsin, where he taught middle school and high school chorus for many years. In his spare time, he was involved in many aspect of theater production and well ad acting, singing and dancing. Reilly was also a director, choreographer and worked in the pit as instrumental director, chorus director and director of productions. Reilly held roles as El Gallo in the “Fantasticks,” Will Parker in “Oklahoma,” Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat,” as well as parts in Godspell and Guys and Dolls.
Reilly graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education with an emphasis in choral, vocal and instrumental music. Some of his teachers include Marsha Middlestadt, Daniel Vanderlinden, Ralph Holter and Sr. Davidica Miller.
Music at these concerts will include Scarborough Fair, God Bless the USA, Autumn Leaves, When I Fall in Love, Silhouettes, Carol of the Bells, O Holy Night and more.
Guest soloist for the December 20 concert will be Steven Espinosa, a new resident of Naples, relocated from San Luis Obispo, Calif. During his 33 years living on the central coast of California, he was involved with the San Luis Obispo Vocal Arts Ensemble and performed in The Telephone and The Polar Express.
He appeared in the 2008 season of America’s Got Talent. Recently, Stephen performed with Opera Naples in “I Pagliacci,” “Barber of Seville” and “La Boheme.”
This will be the eighth concert Tropical Storm has performed in since its inception in September of 2013. Recently, on Veteran’s Day, they performed at the Bonita Springs Veteran’s Day program to a standing ovation on the conclusion of their version of “God Bless the USA.”
On December 14, Tropical Storm will perform at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples in a holiday fundraiser to benefit Immokalee Housing and Family Services. That concert will be held at 6340 Napa Woods Way in Naples and will cost $20 per person. If you are interested in that fundraiser, call 239-529-6628 for ticket sales and reservations.
