The 24th Annual Christmas Carol Sing will be held Dec. 9 at First Presbyterian Church, at 2438 Second Street, Fort Myers.
Admission is at least two cans of non-perishable food for The Soup Kitchen and a voluntary cash donation, if you can.
Three sing-a-longs are planned at 1, 4 and 7 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time.
Those who cannot attend may donate canned goods at the Galloway Ford dealership on Boy Scout Drive or the Coconut Point Ford dealership on U.S. 41 in Estero or mail them to Community Cooperative, P.O. Box 2143, Fort Myers, FL 33902.
A 90-minute performance, the show will feature the First Presbyterian Church Choir, soloists and other guests singing holiday carols with audience sing-a-longs. There is a rumor that Santa Claus will make a surprise visit.

The program also includes medleys of favorite Christmas carols and an audience sing-a-long.
Other concerts this season are set for the following dates:

All of the concerts will be held at 3 p.m. in the auditorium at Cape Coral High School, at 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd.
The programs are free of charge, but donations are accepted.

Working with Santa, the VegHeads 4-H youth club will install one raised vegetable garden bed for one lucky winner.
The club will supply all of the materials, including the soil, fertilizer, seeds and plants.
For a chance to win the garden, write Santa a letter – less than 500 words – explaining:?why you want the garden; why you have not installed a garden for yourself; and where the garden will go.
Include your name, address, phone number and email, if you have one, with the letter.

The deadline to submit a letter is Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.

Lehigh Regional Medical Center will host its annual Tree Lighting on Dec. 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1500 Lee Blvd.
Santa will arrive on a fire truck at 5 p.m. to kick off the festivities. Free photos with Santa and refreshments will be available.

Annual Christmas Carol Sing to help feed hungry
The 24th Annual Christmas Carol Sing will be held Dec. 9 at First Presbyterian Church, at 2438 Second Street, Fort Myers.
Admission is at least two cans of non-perishable food for The Soup Kitchen and a voluntary cash donation, if you can.
Three sing-a-longs are planned at 1, 4 and 7 p.m. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to show time.
Those who cannot attend may donate canned goods at the Galloway Ford dealership on Boy Scout Drive or the Coconut Point Ford dealership on U.S. 41 in Estero or mail them to Community Cooperative, P.O. Box 2143, Fort Myers, FL 33902.
A 90-minute performance, the show will feature the First Presbyterian Church Choir, soloists and other guests singing holiday carols with audience sing-a-longs. There is a rumor that Santa Claus will make a surprise visit.

Lee County Community Band lists concerts
The Lee County Community Band will perform an annual holiday concert on Dec. 14.
There will be secular and sacred Christmas music, like Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride,” Victor Herbert’s “March of the Toys” from “Babes in Toyland,” and “O Holy Night.”
The program also includes medleys of favorite Christmas carols and an audience sing-a-long.
Other concerts this season are set for the following dates:
– Jan. 11
– Feb. 8
– March 8
– April 12
All of the concerts will be held at 3 p.m. in the auditorium at Cape Coral High School, at 2300 Santa Barbara Blvd.
The programs are free of charge, but donations are accepted.
The 50-member band welcomes new members.

One to win free vegetable garden
Working with Santa, the VegHeads 4-H youth club will install one raised vegetable garden bed for one lucky winner.
The club will supply all of the materials, including the soil, fertilizer, seeds and plants.
For a chance to win the garden, write Santa a letter – less than 500 words – explaining:?why you want the garden; why you have not installed a garden for yourself; and where the garden will go.
Include your name, address, phone number and email, if you have one, with the letter.

The deadline to submit a letter is Dec. 15 at 5 p.m.

Lehigh Concert Band to perform free concert
The Lehigh Concert Band will perform on Dec. 21 at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, at 705 Leeland Heights Blvd.
Hear favorite songs like “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree”, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.” The band will also perform Leroy Anderson’s “A Christmas Festival” and Jose Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad.”
The event is free of charge, but donations are accepted. The band will also collect donations of non-perishable food for the Lehigh Community Services.

Socks for Seniors needs coordinators
The Socks for Seniors campaign will run through Christmas.
It is an annual community service project in which new socks are collected and distributed to the elderly in area nursing homes.
The campaign is looking for local area coordinators in Lehigh Acres to help in the collection.

4-H FunDay youth art contest planned
Arts of the Inland is sponsoring a youth art contest with the theme “family fun” at the 4-H FunDay.
There are three categories: youth up to the age of 7, ages 8-12, and ages 13-18. Each age category will receive first, second and third place prize ribbons.
Entries will be accepted at the 4-H FunDay, which will be held on Jan. 24 at Veterans Park, at 55 S. Homestead Road.

The Lehigh Acres Community Pool, at 1400 W. Fifth St., is heated and open to the public year round.
Commit to get fit with aqua aerobics. Choose from an invigorating fast paced workout offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday or the ultra-low impact National Arthritis Foundation sponsored class at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Classes are in chest deep water and 45 minutes in length.

Healthy Harvest Community Farms, at 607 Mirror Lakes Drive, will host boot camp classes.
The following are planned:
– Mondays and Fridays from 6 to 7 p.m. at Williams Park
– Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Veterans Park
– Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m and Saturdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Healthy Harvest Community Farms
The classes are free; donations are welcome and appreciated. At least 10 people must be signed up for a class to take place.
