Thomas Landry

Thomas Landry age 72 passed away peacefully at his home after a brief illness. He lived in Lehigh Acres close to 20 years.

He was the son of John Landry and Louise (Frawley) Landry of Massachusetts. Tom was born and grew up in Wakefield Massachusetts graduating from Wakefield High School in 1959. He enlisted in the Navy that same year and served on the U.S.S. Enterprise during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After being honorably discharged from Naval service in 1965 he then enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1966 as the conflict in Vietnam escalated. He was trained as an Advanced Imagery Interpreter Specialist. He was promoted to Staff Sergeant as a result of his expertise in this area. From 1967 thru 1983 he traveled the world as a Marine on various assignments including time in Okinawa, So. Vietnam, Germany, Hawaii and Kawate. During this time he received numerous medals and commendations. He was proud to have served his country.

Thomas is survived by his son Michael of California, his Brother John (Jacque) of Lehigh Acres, his sister Marjorie Lucci of Massachusetts and many loving nieces and nephews also from Massachusetts. He will be remembered fondly and missed by his family and friends as a proud patriot and great man.

Interment will be at the Quantico National Cemetery at the Marine Training Base in Virginia. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hodge Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park in Fort Myers Florida.
