T’was the season of joy for students

It ’twas the season of happiness for sure for students at the Harns Marsh Elementary School on Unice Ave. in Lehigh Acres, thanks to the efforts of the College Parkway Health Center. Dr. Bob Ziegenfus at the College Parkway Health Center, said hundreds of toys and essentials were handed out to students before school closed for the holidays.

This marks the third year that College Parkway Health Center, Fiddlesticks Country Club and Lexington Country Club have decided to help this particular school.

For the staff at the College Parkway Health Center, the welfare of these children has become a personal mission, said Dr. Linda Gianetti.

“We truly believe that’s because these kids now have the basics they need and are able to concentrate on simply being good students,” Ziegenfus said.

Gifts were brought in to the health center all of December for the many, if not most of the 900 students in the school and the final gifts were collected on Dec. 16.

Most of the toys and other gifts were wrapped, but it was a requirement.

The College Parkway Health Center is at 6371 Presidential Court, in Fort Myers.

As the gifts poured in, they were stored in a safe locked location to make sure the promise of a truly Merry Christmas would take place, Ziegenfus said. The toys were passed out that Wednesday from 3 to 3:30 p.m.

Dr. Marsha Bur is the principal at Harns Marsh and expressed her appreciation for what the group is doing and has done now for three years.
