FMPD arrests six in drug roundup
The Fort Myers Police Department conducted a “roundup” of suspected drug dealers on Jan. 30.
The arrest phase of the drug sweep was the culmination of undercover drug buys throughout the city of Fort Myers over the last several weeks.
This is the first drug roundup FMPD has conducted in 2015.
“The majority of the sales occurred within one thousand feet of schools and churches,” Lt. Victor Medico, spokesman for the FMPD, said. “Our detectives will continue to conduct these drug roundups in an effort to keep pressure on individuals who attempt to sell drugs in our city.”
The following people were arrested:
– Thomas Miles, 32, of Lehigh Acres, charged with sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a church and possession of marijuana
– Christopher Nash, 55, of Fort Myers, charged with sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, fleeing and attempting to elude, resisting arrest without violence and two counts possession of marijuana
– Michael Woody, 47, of Fort Myers, charged with sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of public housing and possession of cocaine
– David Thomas, 53, of Fort Myers, charged with two counts sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school and two counts possession of cocaine
– Johnny Colston, 44, of Fort Myers, charged with two counts sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school, two counts possession of cocaine, two counts sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and two counts possession of marijuana
– John Adam Cole, 58, of Fort Myers, charged with possession of marijuana
Both Miles and Nash were out on bond for similar offenses stemming from an FMPD case on Oct. 1.
Officer are locating the remaining suspects.
