The Lee County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 10:07 p.m. Feb. 19 to the area of John Avenue South, between Douglas Lane and Arthur Lane, for a what they called a suspicious person call.

Upon arrival, and due to the nature of the incident, deputies began a death investigation. The decedent has been identified as Alexavier Chaz Jennings, 22.

Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide.
