Man awaiting extradition is facing murder charges

A Fort Myers man is expected to be extradited from Orlando and be charged in Lee County with second degree murder and attempted second degree murder.
Don Black, 24, was arrested in Orlando on a Lee County Sheriff’s Office warrant and was in the Orange County jail late last week awaiting extradition to Lee County.
Little information has been released by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office about the murder of Alexavier Chaz Jennings, 22, of Lehigh Acres.
Detectives were called out on Feb. 18 at a little after 10 p.m. to an area around John Ave. S., between Douglas Lane and Arthur Lane, for what they called a suspicious person call.
But when they arrived at the scene, a man was found deceased and deputies began a death investigation with the Major crimes Unit arriving on the scene to conduct the probe.
In another case, on Feb. 21, at around 12:51 p.m., deputies responded to 4950 Centennial Blvd. in Lehigh in reference to a 911 call for help.
When they arrived at the scene, deputies encountered a male with serious injuries. He was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. The victim was identified as Luis Enrique Vazquez-Ocasio, 36, of 4950 Centennial Blvd., Lehigh.
Because of the nature of the incident, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit has assumed the investigation.
