Fund opened for Lehigh Community Services

The Community Health Association established a $1.5 million fund at the Southwest Florida Community Foundation to support Lehigh Community Services.

The CHA is a private nonprofit foundation based in Lehigh that has been promoting health education and improving the quality of care in Southwest Florida for 45 years.

The new endowed fund establishes a legacy at the Community Foundation to ensure continued support of the citizens of Lehigh.

Lehigh Community Services recently received its first annual check for $62,645.04.

March Madness adoptions offered

During March, adopters will receive $20 off fees if they can make a basket at Lee County Domestic Animal Services.

Visit the shelter at 5600 Banner Drive, Fort Myers, to select the perfect family pet. Adoption hours are Monday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Pets available may be viewed online; the site updates hourly.

Adoption applications may be submitted at: www.leelostpets.com or at the shelter.

The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter surgery; age-appropriate vaccinations; flea treatment; de-worming; heartworm test for dogs 6 months or older; feline aids and leukemia test for cats; a Lee County license for pets 3 months or older; Behavior Help Line; Microchip Pet ID; and a 10-day Health Guarantee.

Lehigh Acres Christian Church to hold golf tournament

The Lehigh Acres Christian Church will hold its annual Missions Golf Tournament on March 21 at 8 a.m. at the Majestic Golf Club, at 350 S. Homestead Road; registration at 7 a.m.

There will be a hole-in-one and putting contest.

Cost is $40 for Majestic members or $50 for non-members.

Proceeds benefit the LACC’s Missions Ministry.

Buckingham Presbyterian to host activities

In conjunction with the Verandah community, Buckingham Presbyterian Church will host a yard sale on March 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 4241 Buckingham Road, Fort Myers.

There will be linens, lamps, electronics, kitchen items, floral items, wall pictures and art, furniture, clothing, sporting goods and more.

Egg sandwiches and coffee will be available for sale for breakfast, with hot dogs, sodas and water available for sale for lunch.

To donate items for the sale, call (239) 694-2444 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Buckingham Presbyterian Church will host a fish fry on April 10 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

For $10, diners receive a breaded piece of fish and hushpuppies, green beans or baked beans, cole slaw, a drink and dessert.

First Christian Church announces events

First Christian Church, at 2803 Lee Blvd., presents the following:

– March 29: Celebration of the Palms at 10:30 a.m.

– April 2: Combined service with Faith Lutheran Church at 6:30 p.m.

– April 3: Service of readings and prayer at 11 a.m.

– April 5: Festive Celebration of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m.

First Christian Church will host a faith forum on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. from now until Easter.

Study and discuss topics like forgiveness, grace, sin, God, Christ, hope, faith and belief, heaven and hell, peace and love, and more.
