Victory Christian Center to celebrate 10 years in Lehigh
Victory Christian Center, a non-denominational Christian church, will be celebrating its 10th anniversary later on this year. Father and son, Pastor Larry and Daniel Gregory of “VCC,” first opened the doors in August 2005.
Victory welcomes people of all backgrounds, demographics and viewpoints to come and worship. Everyone that comes not only has a home, but a family and purpose.
It’s not your typical church in the sense that the environment is very accessible and inviting, the message is clear and relevant, and the motive of every heart is love and acceptance, Larry Gregory said.
Every Sunday morning, people fill the building, located at 1251 Taylor Lane.
Sean and Brittney Healey, along with their two children, are among those who call Victory home.
“Victory has brought me closer to God. The church is filled with people that exemplify what true Christianity is meant to be. Not only have I found a family, but I have also found people who are bringing me closer to a relationship with Christ. My wife and I, and our kids, have found a home here,” Sean Healey said.
Chris and Marie Nieves, another couple who has been attending Victory since June 2014, said they have gained a second family and a greater sense of community at the church.
“I instantly felt the presence of God,” said Marie Nieves.
For the younger crowd, Victory offer’s a children’s church service for ages 5-11, as well as a nursery for infants and toddlers.
Every Friday at 7 p.m. is “Inverted,” a youth group where teens can come and enjoy live music, games and self-expression all while learning more about their faith alongside their friends.
Normal service hours are Sundays at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. “Wednesday Night Alive” is every Wednesday at 7 p.m.
In addition to the church’s regular English services, it also provides a Spanish service on the second Sunday of every month at 5 p.m. The church is currently in the process of growing its efforts to reach the Hispanic community.
Once a month there is a free Christian concert called The Arena that is open to the public. The genre of the music varies, from contemporary to rock, from hip hop to metal. All ages are welcome.
When visiting Victory, you will be warmly greeted by the church’s greeters and given a free gift, church officials said.
“We encourage anyone and everyone to stop in for any one of the church services and enjoy a live worship session of contemporary and modern music, followed by an engaging sermon from Pastor Larry or Pastor Daniel,” officials said.
Victory has gone on many missions trips to different countries. It partnered locally with “Angel Tree: Prison Fellowship” last Christmas and held a canned food drive for Lehigh Acres United Way.
Its mission is to be more involved with the community and help those in need and those who want to develop an unshakable relationship with God.
“You’ll find that we stay true to our mission statement: To save, to serve, to send,” Pastor Daniel Gregory said.
