Updated: Deputy released from hospital after being stabbed responding to disturbance call

A Lehigh Acres woman accused of stabbing a Lee County deputy in the leg has been released from the hospital and has been booked into the Lee County Jail.

Tiffany Garcia, 26, of 706 Arianne Court, Lehigh Acres, has been charged with aggravated battery on an officer and assault on an officer.

A Lee County deputy seriously injured Monday while responding to a disturbance call has been treated and released from a hospital.

The female deputy was stabbed in the leg while responding to the call shortly before 6:30 a.m. at 706 Arianne Court in Lehigh Acres.

When deputies arrived, a male and female were in a verbal dispute at the residence, officials said in a prepared statement released Tuesday.

“The deputy was confronted by the female subject who lashed out with a knife and stabbed her in the leg,” the release states.

“The female subject was transported to the hospital. The case remains under investigation.”
