Inspirations Art Show on display

Hosted by the Arts of the Inland, the Inspirations Art Show will be on display through April 30 at the AOI Barron Park House Gallery, at 471 Lee St., LaBelle.

Gallery hours are Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Artist of the Month named

Arts of the Inland member Penny Fox is the Artist of the Month for April at the AOI Gallery in the cafe at Lehigh Regional Medical Center, 1500 Lee Blvd.

Stop in and see her creations Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fundraiser to support ELCHS Athletic Dept.

East Lee County High School’s Athletic Department, Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres and The Comedy Machine will host A Comedy Extravaganza on May 1 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the auditorium, at 715 Thomas Sherwin Ave.

The Comedy Machine is a “comedy club” on wheels; three comedians in a 90-minute show.

Admission for ages 16 and over is $20 in advance or $25 day of.

The proceeds will go toward the purchase of replacement uniforms for the student athletes.

ReptiDay in Fort Myers

ReptiDay will be held on May 2 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza in the Bell Tower Shops, at 13051 Bell Tower Drive, Fort Myers.

It is a one-day reptile event, where vendors offer pets, supplies, feeders, cages and merchandise, as well as live animal seminars and free raffles for prizes.

Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12; children under the age of 5 are free.

VIP early entry at 9:30 a.m.

Certified Junior Master Gardening Program set

Lee County 4-H will present the Certified Junior Master Gardening Program from June 15 to Aug. 7 at the East County Regional Library, 881 Gunnery Road.

The 21-session program includes hands-on gardening, science projects, community service projects and field trips.

It is designed for ages 10-18.

The program will run Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings; no classes July 1, 3 and 6.

Cost is $50; scholarships are available for those in need.

Pre-registration is required. To register, send a check made out to “Lee County 4-H” to: Junior Master Gardener 4-H Program, P.O. Box 3267, North Fort Myers, FL 33918.

Healthy Harvest Community Farms, at 607 Mirror Lakes Drive, hosts the following boot camps:

– Mondays and Fridays from 6 to 7 p.m. at Williams Park

– Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Veterans Park

– Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m and Saturdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at Healthy Harvest Community Farms

The classes are free; donations are welcome. At least 10 people must be signed up for a class.

Commit to get fit with aqua aerobics. Choose from a fast-paced workout at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday or the ultra-low impact class at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Classes are 45 minutes long in chest deep water.

There are lifeguards-on-duty. Lap swimmers welcome.
