Do not miss May 30 meeting for finalizing Lehigh Plan
Lehigh Acres residents are being reminded by Lee County government of the upcoming Lehigh Acres Community Plan workshop which is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
It will be held at the meeting room of the East County Regional Library at 881 Gunnery Rd., in Lehigh.
Janet Miller, an administrative assistant with Lee County, said the topic will be “The Finalized Lehigh Acres Planning and Design Study” for the downtown and Admiral Lehigh activity centers.
“It’s most important that we get all the people we can to come to this most important meeting which will finalize some of the re-doing of downtown Lehigh,” she said.
Ruth Anglickis, an activist for the community, said the word needs to get out that all merchants, Realtors, developers, banks, members of the ECWCD and the Lehigh Acres Community Council, the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce members should not miss this important meeting.
“Please encourage others to attend, too. This is the meeting you can help make this plan happen or make changes that need to be made. It’s time for everyone’s voice to be heard.
Things like traffic roundabouts on Homestead Rd. may be considered in the final plan. Those who oppose those types of intersections in a busy downtown area should be on hand to voice their feelings. Traffic flows may be changed on Homestead Rd. and other plans are part of a final plan.
“Zoning is already in place for downtown Homestead with Lee County. Lehigh leadership is needed,” she said. For more information, contact Janet Miller at jmiller@leegov.cvom or call 239-533-8583.
