The Caribbean American Social Club of Lehigh Acres presented two scholarships to two students at its annual banquet on May 22 at the Pelican Preserve Banquet Hall.

Lehigh Senior High School students Britany Henry and Dwayne Moffatt each received $500.

The students, along with their parents, were treated to a full-course dinner and dance.

Club President Orville Hall lauded the students for their hard work and dedication to their studies and challenged them to continue the hard work.

“Your parents must be extremely proud of you, and I’m sure they will be there for you as you continue to pursue your studies,” he said.

This is the first year for the scholarship fund, but Hall assured the patrons that the association plans to continue the program.

The association also presented one of its long-standing members, Alexander Morgan, with the Henry M. Garner Contribution Award. The award is named after one of the club’s founding members and the association’s first president.

The award is given on an annual basis to a member who has demonstrated his or her willingness to go above and beyond the normal duties to help make the association a better place.

CASCOLA is celebrating its 26th year this year.
