Four-day week for district employees
Beginning on June 15, the schools and departments with the Lee County School District will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
By closing on Fridays, the district anticipates saving $48,000 per week during the summer months.
The summer schedule will continue through July 31.

Best graduates from Northern Illinois
Katrina Best, of Lehigh Acres, is a recent graduate of Northern Illinois University, joining 227,000 alumni who are putting the university’s promise of student career success into action.
Best graduated with a Master of Science in Education.
Graduate degrees were conferred on May 8; undergraduate degrees were conferred on May 9.
