Candidate for sheriff
LCSO Sgt. Stephanie H. Eller will announce her candidacy for Lee County sheriff on June 30 at 11 a.m. at the Old Lee County Courthouse, at 2120 Main St., Fort Myers.
As a patrol sergeant, Eller realized the agency had become top-heavy and citizens were not being properly served.
“I am running for sheriff to cut the fat from the top, get boots on the ground and provide decent working environments and wages to our certified personnel and support staff so I can put an end to the turnover,” she said.
Due to the “resign to run law,” Eller will leave on Aug. 3. This will allow her to be available as her campaign unfolds.
