FGUA rescinds precautionary boil water notice advisory

The precautionary boil water notice issued by FGUA on July 5 for Lehigh Acres utility customer living from Homestead Road, south of Veterans Park to include Majestic Golf Course, Mirror Lakes and Parker Lakes in the Blackstone area, Mirror Lakes Elementary, East Lee High School, also customers in the Amberwood community off of Richmond Avenue, that is south of Danby Road and Marby Road area, was no longer in effect by the mid part of last week.

All biological testing samples were negative and therefore customers could resume water usage as normal.

The samples were analyzed by a Florida Department of Health-certified laboratory that confirmed the drinking water is safe to drink, according to Donna Lizotte, community service representative in Lehigh for FGUA.

“The FGUA would like to apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during this time and thank you for your patience during the precautionary boil water notice period. We appreciate your assistance in notifying your neighbors that the precautionary boil water advisory is no longer in effect,” she said.
