Healthy Harvest to host scavenger hunt

A scavenger hunt will be held on July 25 starting at 10 a.m. at Healthy Harvest Farms, at 605 Mirror Lakes Drive.

Each destination point will consist of a challenge to accept or wait 15 minutes to get a clue to the next destination and challenge.

The top three finishers will be treated to prizes; a celebration will be held at the end for participants.

The entry fee for a team of two is $25 or $30 for three people.

Free parking last weekend in July

Parking fees will be waived on July 25-26 at Lee County-managed boat ramps and regional parks, and admission will be waived at the county’s swimming pools in recognition of National Park and Recreation Month.

There will be 24 sites at which no fees will be applied, including:

– Regional parks: Lakes Park, Manatee Park, Hickey’s Creek Mitigation Park, Caloosahatchee Regional Park, Six Mile Cypress Slough Preserve and Caloosahatchee Creeks Preserve

– Beach sites: Bonita Beach Accesses No. 1 and No. 10, Bonita Beach Park, Bowditch Point and Lynn Hall Memorial Park, Bunche Beach, Bowman’s Beach and Turner Beach (north side only of Blind Pass)

– Boat ramps: Punta Rassa, Matlacha, Alva, Davis, Pine Island Commercial Marina and Imperial River

– Pools: Lehigh Community Pool, North Fort Myers Community Pool, Pine Island Community Pool and San Carlos Community Pool

The city of Cape Coral is also participating by waiving fees at its five boat ramps, including the Yacht Club Boat Ramp, Horton Park, Rosen Park, Burnt Store Marina and BMX Boat Ramp.

Lee County Summer Camps are also participating. Each camp site will provide an activity or project to showcase within its park setting.

Representatives from ES&S will be available to assist with hands-on demonstrations and answer questions.

The public is invited to attend and learn about the system.

The classes are free; donations are welcome. At least 10 people must be signed up for a class.

Commit to get fit with aqua aerobics. Choose from a fast-paced workout at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday or the ultra-low impact class at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and Friday. Classes are 45 minutes long in chest deep water.

There are lifeguards-on-duty. Lap swimmers welcome.
