CEO set to resign from Lehigh Regional Medical Center
Joanie Jeannette, chief executive officer of Lehigh Regional Medical Center, announced her resignation in an email to Inke Baker, president and CEO of the Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce.
Jeannette was on the list of celebrity waitresses for the upcoming annual challenge dinner to be held on Aug. 1.
Jeannette, who has been with LRMC, for at least four or five years, said she has accepted a position with Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, Tennessee.
No dates were mentioned in the email of the date of resignation from LRMC.
Calls to Jeannette were not returned.
Calls and an email request to Diann Cimrig, marketing director of LRMC, also were not returned as of press time.
The chamber event is held to raise money for the chamber and to name the new honorary mayor of Lehigh.
Several local “celebrities,” including TV personalities and at least one politician will attend tables to get large tips for the chamber.
Jeannette was one of the local personalities who had agreed to participate.
The hospital has had several CEOs over the past several years, under the ownership of different medical firms.
The hospital is at 1500 Lee Blvd.
On April 10, 2014, Jeannette wrote to the Lehigh Acres Citizen that she had come to LRMC over three years ago “and it has been my goal to improve the care first and foremost, and have the community feel that the hospital has improved. We have seen this as evidenced by the national reporting of Core Measures and the patient perception scores of HCAPS.”
She said these are federally mandated reports that are produced every quarter.
Jeannette also noted that LRMC “exceeds many quality scores of other health systems in our area.”
Those called at the hospital refrained from offering any information about her resignation. No successor has been mentioned.
