To the editor:

Thank you for taking the time to share your support for literacy education in Lehigh Acres. The need is great throughout Lee County, and the Literacy Council recognizes the need for high quality education in Lehigh.

Literacy Council began a partnership with the Lee County School District in 2012 where we teach parents of kids who attend at 17 Title I schools.

This past year we taught parents at Harns Marsh Elementary School, Sunshine Elementary School, Lehigh Elementary School, Veteran’s Park Elementary School and Mirror Lakes Elementary School. In total, the Council taught 302 students in Lehigh Acres.

Literacy Council Gulf Coast is always looking for ways to grow and expand as they recognize the community need is great.
