School bus routes live on website
School bus routes for the 2015-16 school year are now available on the district’s web site.
Students who live beyond the two-mile limit from home to their assigned school are provided transportation services as per Florida rules.
To access school bus stop locations and pick up/drop off times, families should visit: www.leeschools.net and click on the “Back to School” section.
Bus routes and schedules are also available in the Lee County Public Schools app, which is available for download in the Play Store for Android devices and the App Store for Apple devices.
Questions or requests for bus stops should be directed to the child’s school.
Positive trend in AP exam results
The recent results of the 2014-15 Advanced Placement exams indicate that more Lee County students are participating and succeeding in these advanced courses.
Data shows that the number of AP exams taken increased from 5,471 in 2013-14 to 5,668 last year?- an increase of 3.6 percent.
Identifying and placing students in advanced courses has become an emphasis in the high schools.
The results indicate that students passed 229 more AP tests than the previous year.
Students experienced particularly high rates of success in: studio art/2-D design, 92.6 percent overall pass rate; Spanish language, 95.9 percent overall pass rate; and computer science A, 80 percent overall pass rate.
AP exams are designed to measure students’ ability to handle college-level material and are given in a variety of subjects as the culmination of participation in advanced high school courses; students passing an AP exam can be awarded college credit
All high schools in the district offer AP courses.
