Auxiliary Unit 323 attends workshop

The Lehigh Acres American Legion Auxiliary Unit 323 attended a workshop hosted by the American Legion Auxiliary Department of Florida on Aug. 14-16 at the Wyndham Hotel in Orlando.

The members in attendance were Jeanne Nadeau, Nicole Jaster, Tina Hanson, Marilyn Sherlock, Linda Hall and Jacqueline Moody.

They learned about programs for the upcoming auxiliary year; the department president’s theme is “From The Service Of One Comes The Support Of Many.”

Each district in the state is a palm tree, with District 13 being ponytail palms.

The membership theme is “monkeys,” as in this year we are not monkeying around – we are seeking members, renewing members and asking those who have not renewed to rejoin.

President Kathy Reed is anxious to get started on the programs for the upcoming year; each chairwoman will receive her plan of works from the District 13 chair.

Department President Pearl McIntyre’s special program is Fisher House.

The auxiliary meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m., except for September.

If you wish to become a member, call Evelyn Kanchok at (239) 369-3178.
