To the editor:

In Lee County, Florida school started this week. In other parts of the country, school has already started.

Whether you have children or not, please be involved with a child’s education and character building. Mentors are needed to help parents and teachers. Volunteers are needed in schools to help tutor.

By taking care of your corner of the world you are showing stewardship and it does make a difference in the lives of children across our nation.

If you’re in business, be a sponsor at a school. Taxes just don’t pay for everything. Changing a nation, starts with raising our children to love school, worship our Lord and Savior, and learning “to be, in order to do, in order to have, in order to give back.”

Teaching our children character values will change the hate and crime that is spreading across our country. It is up to us to change the world.
