Win free air conditioner in Beat the Heat contest

From now until Sept. 15, Kenmark Air is requesting nominations from the community for a deserving family that needs air conditioning in their home.

Once the home is inspected to make sure it meets the necessary criteria, Kenmark Air will provide free equipment and installation.

Nominations of 250 words or less can be completed online at: KenmarkAir.com/BeatTheHeat or can be sent by mail to Kenmark Air, 5811 Country Lakes Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33905.

One can nominate himself or herself, a friend, neighbor, family member or co-worker in need.

The winning home will be selected by Sept. 30.

Broadway Palm opens season

The Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre opens its 23rd season with “Some Enchanted Evening,” playing now through Sept. 26.

“Some Enchanted Evening” takes the audience on a journey through some of the greatest Broadway hits of all time.

Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II wrote some of the most beloved songs ever performed and this musical brings their greatest hits together in one romantic night of music, laughs and love.

Featuring songs from musical theatre classics including “Oklahoma,” “Carousel,” “The Sound of Music,” “South Pacific,” “State Fair,” “The King and I” and many more.

Directing and choreographing is Amy Marie McCleary. Her critically acclaimed directing/choreography has been seen in many Broadway Palm productions including “Footloose,” “CATS,” “9 to 5 the Musical” and “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story.”

She also directed and choreographed the Prather Entertainment Group 2015 national tour of “Memphis the Musical.”

The cast includes Broadway Palm veteran Kate Marshall, who was most recently seen as Milly in the national tour of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers,” along with Rachael Haber who recently appeared in “Footloose.”

Making their Broadway Palm debuts are Michael Santora, Jacob Waid and Jenna Leigh Zito.

Performances are Wednesday through Sunday evenings with selected matinees. With the season opener special, tickets are just $45 for dinner and the show.
