LCSO: Robbery suspects arrested
Two men who spent Aug. 14 robbing businesses, then killed time in the Lee County Jail.
Robbery detectives say the men committed armed robberies at four businesses on Palm Beach Boulevard within minutes of each other before their ill-fated spree was snuffed out.
Sheriff’s dispatchers received the first call about 8:30 p.m. of an armed robbery at the CVS, at 4710 Palm Beach Blvd.
The suspect was described as a black man with a red hat and silver pistol.
The man demanded money from the cashier and quickly fled the business with an undisclosed amount of money.
Minutes later, dispatchers received calls regarding armed robberies at the Big Lots, at 4901 Palm Beach Blvd., and the Papa Johns, at 4901 Palm Beach Blvd.
The suspect fled both scenes with cash.
When the man was fleeing the Papa Johns, witnesses gave chase. One witness followed the blue vehicle in his own vehicle and was able to pull in front of the suspect’s vehicle before it crashed into the side of his vehicle.
The man with the red hat jumped out of the passenger side and fled on foot. Responding deputies quickly arrested the driver and called out the K-9 Unit to search for the fleeing suspect.
As the search ensued, another deputy spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect walking down the road. The man was quickly detained without incident and identified as Jadeus Jordan, 23, of Pompano Beach.
Witnesses were able to positively identify Jordan as the robber. Surveillance video from the businesses captured Jordan in the act.
The driver was identified as Quajay Williams, 22, of 4725 Douglas Ave.
Both men are charged with three counts of robbery with a firearm.
Fort Myers police are investigating the fourth armed robbery in the area committed during the same time frame.
