Two die in motorcycle crash in Lehigh

By Staff | Sep 16, 2015

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that two people died on Sept. 6 in a crash on Alabama Road and SR82 in Lehigh Acres while on a motorcycle.

The two were identified as Jack Laroy Linn, 48, of Nokomis, and a passenger who was not identified at first because next of kin had not been notified.

That brings the total deaths to 76 this year.

The FHP said in its report that Linn was driving south on Alabama near the intersection of SR 82 at 9:15 p.m. when he failed to stop at the stop sign. He laid the bike down on its right side where it slid through the intersection.

Linn and his passenger were ejected and slid into the path of a vehicle heading east on SR 82. Linn and the passenger ended up underneath the vehicle, according to the report.

Police said Linn and the passenger were wearing helmets.

Tests to see if alcohol was a factor were pending.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver and passenger in the second vehicle, both from Davie, were not injured.

There were no charges.
