Save-A-Lot donates to Boys & Girls Clubs
Save-A-Lot in Lehigh Acres recently donated $800 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County from the annual fundraiser held in July.
General Manager Zach Berard presented a check to BGCLC, which will be used to help maintain the Lehigh programs.
The Clubs have a five-core program curriculum, covering academics, character building, leadership, arts, sports and fitness, and healthy lifestyles.
Airport reports traffic
During August, 454,360 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 1.8 percent compared to August 2014. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 3.7 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in August was Delta with 112,527 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (87,895), JetBlue (61,724), US Airways (45,940) and American (35,515).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 4,349 aircraft movements, a decrease of 1.3 percent compared to 2014. Page Field saw 7,043 movements, a 3.5 percent increase from 2014.
In addition, 2.3 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in August, a decrease of 3.6 percent compared to August 2014.
Job fair scheduled
A job fair will be held on Sept. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Goodwill Job-Link Center, at 2825 Lee Blvd.
Participating employers include Alta Resources, LARC, Golden Gate America and Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida.
Applicants should bring their resume and references; they should be ready to fill out applications and be prepared for on-site interviews.
Both English and Spanish speakers are welcome.
Access Wireless will be on hand to assist with Lifeline Assistance, a government-funded program.

Broadway Palm opens season
The Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre opens its 23rd season with “Some Enchanted Evening,” playing now through Sept. 26.
Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II wrote some of the most beloved songs performed.
Performances are Wednesday through Sunday evenings, with selected matinees.
