Diaper Awareness Week set

By Staff | Sep 23, 2015

Help Destiny Diaper Bank collect 30,000 diapers during the month of October for its “Stuff The Truck” campaign by forming a business or organization sponsor team or by joining one of its 30 sponsor teams.

National Diaper Need Awareness Week will be recognized Sept. 28 to Oct. 4.

There will be three “Stuff The Truck” events to participate in:

– Oct. 24: Kidsfest at Jaycee Park, at 4125 S.E. 20th Place, Cape Coral

– Oct. 29: Reliance Bank, at 2499 Lee Blvd., Lehigh Acres

– Oct. 30: 5/3 Bank, at 2915 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers

The group is looking to secure business and organization sponsor teams to help with the drive.

Baby bottle program

Business and organization sponsors can also take part in Destiny Diaper Bank’s “Your Change Can Make A Change” program.

Take a baby bottle and place it on your desk at work to remind you to drop your change in the bottle.

Or, one large baby bottle can represent your business/organization’s sponsorship. Destiny Diaper Bank will bring the baby bottle to the sponsor’s office.

Then, bring the bottle to one of the events in October or someone from Destiny Diaper Bank will stop by at the end of October to pick them up.

The change will be used to purchase needed diapers.

Sponsorship terms

As a business or organization sponsor during the month of October, your business or organization will be included in all Destiny Diaper Bank newsletters and media publications.

You will also be listed on the website as a drop off location.

You can help Destiny Diaper Bank to make a difference in the lives of many fragile and vulnerable families in the community.

Diaper assistance cannot be obtained through Food Stamps, WIC, Medicaid, or Medicare in most situations.

Many families rely on Destiny Diaper Bank for assistance each month for the needed supplies.

Groups served include:

– Student mothers: “Help Keep A Mom In School” distributes diapers each month to mothers who have 80 percent attendance

– Single working mothers: Helping low-income mothers

– Special needs: Ages 4-20

– Veterans

– First response officers

– Adults and elderly
