Identity of dead man sought

Chain of the deceased man.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office is still seeking the identity of a man found dead on Oct. 3 on Fort Myers Beach.

It has released a picture of the chain that the man was wearing in the hope that someone will recognize it.

At approximately 6:36 p.m., the LCSO responded to the beach area behind 3001 Estero Boulevard. The call for service was in reference to an unresponsive man.

The man was transported to the hospital, where he later passed away.

In conducting the investigation, no identification or known associates or family of the man were located.

The decedent is described as a white, mid 60s to early 70s, with gray short hair, and approximately 5 feet 8 inches.

He was wearing blue swim trunks with a double white stripe on the sides.
