The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred on Oct. 19 at approximately 5:30 p.m. at 554 Alabama Road.

A 2-year-old child was shot and transported to Tampa Regional Hospital.

The shooting appears to be accidental, officials reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
