LRMC helps support holiday giveaway

For more than 10 years, Lehigh Regional Medical Center and the Lehigh Medical Group have supported the Thanksgiving dinner giveaway hosted by Lehigh Community Services.

Each year, the hospital donates 25 turkeys, while the employees donate 25 baskets filled with all of the trimmings.

Qualified families can apply, then Lehigh Community Services selects 25 of them to receive the Thanksgiving dinners.

Before Thanksgiving, the winners pick up their free dinner.

Accreditation team invites public comment

A team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation will arrive on Dec. 2 to examine all aspects of the Lee County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller’s Internal Audit/Inspector General Department’s policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services.

The Lee County Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller must comply with 44 standards in order to receive its initial accredited status.

The assessors will review written materials; interview individuals; and visit offices and other places where compliance can be witnessed.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency members and the public are invited to offer comments to: CFA, P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, Florida 32302, or email info@flaccreditation.org.

Once the assessors complete their review of the agency, they report back to the full commission, which will decide if the agency is to receive accredited status.
