Voting along party lines

By Staff | Nov 18, 2015

To the editor:

The practice of elected officials voting along party lines is a sickening display of unqualified individuals pretending to be earning their keep. This is not what we bargained for when we send representatives to the legislature!

When we hear that the vote was along party lines we feel cheated, it’s not getting our monies worth, and it’s not helping to make for a better state or nation. They know this … so why do they do it. The answer is simple … it’s the same reason why a dog licks himself, they do it because they can. And, in this case, they simply don’t care about doing the job they were hired for.

We expected the representative to go to Tallassee or to Washington … develop ideas and plans that will serve their constituency and improve conditions. We did not expect robot type idiots that simply follow the pack and are too lazy to generate their own ideas.

To vote “along party lines” is tantamount to taking our money under false pretense and literally perpetrating a fraud upon the people that trusted them the most. Make no mistake about it … voting along party lines is disgraceful, it’s sleazy, dishonest and not the actions of straight forward, creative and sincere individuals!

It would be a good idea for elected officials to either start doing their jobs honorably … or resign. We deserve better and we’re not going to allow this foolishness to continue.
