It wasn’t long last week after Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers asked the public to help them track down a Lehigh Acres man who punched a driver in the face while they were stopped at a traffic sign.

The man, identified as Michael Roskov, 35, who got out of car and who is accused of the altercation, found out that the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers were looking for him, so he turned himself in.

The victim was driving on Staley Road on Nov. 18 when he passed a motorist who was driving slowly. The victim safely passed the driver, then stopped at a traffic sign at the intersection of Staley and Orange River Boulevard, according to Trish Routte, Crime Stoppers coordinator.

She said the driver of a maroon Kia Sodona immediately pulled up behind the victim, got out of his car and started walking to the victim’s drivers side door. The man, identified as Roskov, cursed at the victim through a rolled down window and asked him what he was doing, Routte said.

Roskov then punched the driver in the face with a closed fist, got back into his car and drove away, Routte said. Roskov now faces charges of burglary with a battery.

Roskov was last known to be living in Lehigh Acres. He has one prior arrest in Lee County for battery.
