Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying a man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank on Dec. 3 at gunpoint.

According to detectives, a man dressed in a hooded sweatshirt, gloves and a mask covering his face, entered the bank, at 4099 Hancock Bridge Parkway, just after 10 a.m.

Despite the fact that there were customers in the bank, the man boldly pointed a gun at one of the tellers and demanded money.

After acquiring the cash, the man fled on foot in a northbound direction.

Due to the fact that he was heavily concealed, the man’s race is unknown.

“We hope, at this point, that the suspect has mentioned something about the crime to someone, and that person or persons will do the right thing and share what they know,” said Trish Routte, coordinator for Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

“History has shown that when someone gets away with a crime, there is a increased likelihood that they will continue with their criminal pattern,” she said. “Crime Stoppers strongly encourages anyone with information on the identity of this person to come forward before anyone else is victimized.”

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the Wells Fargo robber is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 780-TIPS (8477).

All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 from Crime Stoppers and up to $5,000 from Wells Fargo.
