To the editor:

Not preaching hate but reality – we must try and understand who are considered “infidels” by some of the Muslim faith.

The Quran contains at least 109 versus that some interpret as a call for Muslims to war with nonbelievers for the sake of Islamic Rule. Some are quite graphic – to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called “hypocrites” and warned that Allah will send them to hell if they do not join in the slaughter.

So at what point does this “religion of peace” teach peace?

Many condemn those who call for a ban of those practicing this religion from entering the United States as not having religious tolerance, yet fail to see “the forest through trees” when extreme believers of this faith call for the death of all nonbelievers.

So as Americans we should look outside this so-called political pundit arena and look at this as a reality check for the protections of all of us non-practicing Muslims, better known as “infidels.” The killings in Fort Hood, Chattanooga and now San Bernardino should open our eyes to the possibility of things to come if we as a nation fail to be vigilant in protecting the lives of our citizens.
