LeeTran to increase service to FMB
Increased LeeTran service to Fort Myers Beach is among seasonal changes to begin on Jan. 7.
The Fort Myers Beach Trolley service will include two routes:
– Route 490 has three trolleys that will travel between Summerlin Square and Bowditch Park until 8:45 p.m., seven days a week.
– Route 410 has five trolleys that travel between Bowditch Park and Lovers Key until 10:20 p.m., seven days a week.
In addition, Route 150 will also start its seasonal service between Lovers Key State Park and the Center of Bonita Springs until 9:40 p.m., seven days a week.
Route 50, which operates from Summerlin Square, at 11390 Summerlin Square Drive, to the Southwest Florida International Airport, will also add more frequent routes Monday through Friday.
The seasonal changes extend through April 27.

Chamber to host Business After Hours
The Greater Lehigh Acres Chamber of Commerce will host a Business After Hours on Jan. 8 from 6 to 8 pm. at Bowland Lehigh, at 1244 Business Way.
Cost is $15 per person; food and beverages will be provided.

SARPA to meet
SARPA will meet monthly for a social at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a program at 6:45 p.m. at the Forest Country Club, at 6100 S.W. Club Blvd., Fort Myers.
Upcoming meeting dates and topics include:
– Jan. 13: “Snake Oil is Alive & Well” with Morton Tavel
– Feb. 11: Recent happenings in Lee County and healthcare trends nationwide with Jim Nathan
– March 10: Joint Replacement Surgery with James Guerra
On April 2, the group will attend the “Who under Where” at 1:15 p.m. at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, at 1380 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. Buffet at 11:45 a.m.
SARPA consists of retired physicians, dentists, veterinarians, Ph.D.s and pharmacologists and is open to doctoral-level allied health care professionals and their spouses. They meet November to April.
Membership dues are $40 per year; payment of a single due covers doctors and their spouses.

Nominations being taken for Citizen of Year award
Lee County Commissioners are looking for nominees for the 2015 Paulette Burton Citizen of the Year Award, who get involved in the community and work diligently for causes in which they believe.
The award strives to recognize a citizen who has provided outstanding civic contributions to Lee County government.
The criteria includes a positive attitude, knowledge of the objectives and activities of Lee, demonstrated interest in community/county government partnerships and promotion of harmony between community and government.
Nomination forms are available at Lee County libraries and recreation centers or online at: www.leegov.com/citizenoftheyear.
Nominations due by Jan. 29.
