Lehigh Democratic Club meet Jan. 19

The Lehigh Democratic Club will launch its 2016 season with a program on January 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Veterans Park on Homestead Rd. in Lehigh Acres. The program will offer insights into public education. A guest panel of four includes Michael Bonacolta, teacher and active Lehigh leader; Pamela Lavierra, school board member of District 5; Charlie Flories, school board candidate for District 2; and Betsy Vaughn, school board candidate for District 7. Karen Harty, a master gardener with Grow A Gardener, will present the following series:

– Jan. 16: Veggie gardening in containers from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

The series will be held at the Hendry County Hendry County Extension Office, at 1085 Pratt Blvd., Labelle.

Single class fee is $15, or $50 for all four classes.

A 10-by-10 space for Arts of the Inland members is $30; the non-member rate is $60.

Reserve a space by Jan. 15.

Parents are encouraged to participate with their children.
