Preferred Community Bank acquires new location
Preferred Community Bank has moved from its prior location, at 2511 Lee Blvd., to its new location, at 2499 Lee Blvd.
Preferred Community Bank is a locally owned and operated full-service bank with assets of $100 million as of Dec. 31.
The Lehigh branch was established in 2007.
Airport reports on traffic
During December, 835,359 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 9.2 percent compared to December 2014. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 5 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in December was Delta with 170,913 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest (143,329), JetBlue (99,550), Spirit (94,554) and United (71,605).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,199 aircraft movements – takeoffs and landings -?an increase of 7.7 percent compared to December 2014. Page Field saw 8,221 movements, a 0.4 percent decrease from December 2014.
In addition, more than 3.9 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in December 2015, an increase of 1.9 percent compared to December 2014.

Nominations being taken for Citizen of Year award
Lee County Commissioners are looking for nominees for the 2015 Paulette Burton Citizen of the Year Award, who get involved in the community and work diligently for causes in which they believe.
The award strives to recognize a citizen who has provided outstanding civic contributions to Lee County government.
The criteria includes a positive attitude, knowledge of the objectives and activities of Lee, demonstrated interest in community/county government partnerships and promotion of harmony between community and government.
Nomination forms are available at Lee County libraries and recreation centers or online at: www.leegov.com/citizenoftheyear.
Nominations due by Jan. 29.
Home Care Association of America Job fair scheduled
The Home Care Association of America will hold a job fair on Feb. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nova Southeastern University, at 3650 Colonial Court, Fort Myers.
Six members of the association will be on hand. The home health agencies currently employ approximately 1,500 part-time employees and hire an average of 30-45 employees every week.
Many of the open positions require no previous experience in health care and the flexible hours are ideal for stay-at-home parents, retirees, veterans and students.
The agencies will also be hiring home health aides and certified nurse assistants.
Sign on bonuses will be available for some positions, and attendees will be entered in a raffle for door prizes.
Attendees also will be offered free Continuing Education Units for participating in two educational seminars being provided – “Caregiving Wages: 1099 or W-2” and “Professionalism and Ethics in the Workplace.” Each is 30 minutes long.

Voters have to choose to register as a Republican or a Democrat to vote for the candidate of their choice in the March 15th Florida Presidential Preference Primary.
Florida is a closed primary state; only voters who are registered members of the respective political party can vote for those candidate nominees in a primary election.
You may not vote for a candidate in another party affiliation other than your own in a primary election.
A change of party affiliation must be made on a Florida voter registration application; access an application on the website:?www.lee.vote, under the “Voters” tab.
The Florida voter registration application must be received in one of the Lee County Supervisor of Elections offices no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 16 or postmarked Feb. 16.
