Airport reports traffic
During January, 918,929 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport, an increase of 7.5 percent compared to January 2015. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 7.5 percent from the same period last year.
The traffic leader in January was Southwest with 185,439 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Delta (170,564), American (127,384), Spirit (102,871) and JetBlue (102,085).
Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,909 aircraft movements – takeoffs and landings – an increase of 5.6 percent compared to January 2015. Page Field saw 9,031 movements, a 2.6 percent increase from January 2015.
Job fair scheduled
The Southwest Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will host its Spring Job Fair on March 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hodges University Fort Myers Campus, at 4501 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers.
Participating companies include Latino 97.7, Hodges University, Lowe’s, Telemundo, BB&T, LCEC, School District of Lee County, Imagen Semanal, LeeSar, MundoMax, Sunstate Academy, Fort Myers Broadcasting, Nuevos Ecos, Fifth Third Bank, B&I Contractors, CareerSource Southwest Florida, Biotest Pharmaceuticals, Lee Memorial Health System, Accion Hispana, Azteca America SWFL, United Way and more.
